The class, in the language it was taught

Choose the language before you record. Tapescript writes the transcript and the summary in it, in its own script: a Japanese class comes back in Japanese, a Spanish seminar in Spanish.

A Japanese class summarised in Japanese in Tapescript

Japanese, in Japanese

A 30-minute keigo class comes back with its summary and key points in Japanese, and the homework as action items: the textbook exercises, and getting ready for next week’s quiz.

Reading it back is practice too.

A Spanish seminar, in Spanish

The same for a 45-minute art history class on the Baroque, taught in Spanish: Caravaggio and Velázquez, and what to prepare for next time.

Over 60 languages

Among them Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Arabic, Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Turkish, Russian, Japanese, Korean and Chinese. Each is written in its own script.

Getting the language right

  1. Choose it first. Pick the class’s language before you record; it sets the transcript’s script.
  2. One language a recording. If a teacher switches back and forth, pick the one they use most.
  3. Set your languages once. Settings holds the languages you use; with more than one, the app asks which before each recording.
